2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
½ tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. almond extract


Glaze:
Confectioners Sugar
1 tsp. Karo Syrup
cap of almond extract
water to thin

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, soda and salt together into a bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Add egg and almond extract; mix well.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press down slightly to flatten. Bake at 325º for 15-18 minutes. Makes 4½ dozen.
