1 lb sausage
¼ cup flour
2 cups milk

pepper

Brown sausage, crumbling into little pieces. Sprinkle with flour and brown. Add milk, stirring constantly. If needed, add milk to thin to desired consistency. Salt and pepper to taste.

2 cups flour
½ tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
½ cream of tartar
½ cup shortening or lard
⅔ cup milk

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425ºF. Put the flour, salt, baking powder, and cream of tartar in a bowl. Cut the shortening into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add the milk all at once and stir just until the dough forms a ball around the fork. turn the dough onto a lightly floured board and knead 14 times. Pat until ½" thick. Cut into rounds with a 2" cookie cutter. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
