1½ cups butter, softened
8 good size ripe bananas
3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
4 beaten eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1½ cups pecan pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º
Grease & flour 3 medium loaf pans

In large bowl, cream butter & sugar. Blend in bananas, eggs & vanilla. Sift flour, soda & salt together. Stir in to banana mixture alternating with buttermilk. Add nuts. Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes until golden brown and toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool 10 minutes in pans on rack. Remove from pans and allow to cool completely on a rack.
