Italian Loaf (Serves 6-8)

INGREDIENTS:

* 2 ½ - 3 lbs lean ground beef * 1 medium onion

* ½ tsp ground oregano * 1 tsp garlic powder * 1 egg

* Salt and pepper to taste * 3 types cheese (your choice) 1 cup ea.

* 1 Large loaf Italian Bread (French bread if nec.)

DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

- Dice onion and brown in skillet. Add ground beef, brown well, then drain well.

- Slice off very end on one end of loaf for access to scooping inside with long utensils. Scoop out soft part of bread from inside the loaf and crumble to make bread crumbs. Put loaf to side.

- In mixing bowl, add drained ground beef, 2 cups of the breadcrumbs, add egg, oregano, garlic and the grated cheese. Stir well until thoroughly mixed.

- Stuff loaf with mix, replace end. Wrap in foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until thoroughly heated.

Slice, serve and enjoy. It gets better as days go by. :)
