¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 egg
2¼ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Mix sugars, margarine and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Dough will be stiff. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bbake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from cookie sheet. Substitute 2 cups candy-coated M&Ms for chocolate chips, if desired.
