1/2 cup of corn syrup (can use light or dark but I think Mom used light)

3 raw eggs

1 cup of sugar

1/4 cup of softened butter

1 cup of chopped nuts

2 pie shells (can get these in the frozen dessert or baking section of grocery store)

Directions:

Mix ingredients above and pour mixture into the two pie shells.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes (until golden top)

Pecan pies have been a requirement for all of our family gatherings. Mom used to pick up pecans at Lucille and Elton's house and she would crack them and put them in bags in the freezer. I have memories of the smell of the pecan pies as mom made them. They were and are so delicious.
