Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 ½ lbs. lean hamburger (like we get from the locker or 90% lean from the grocery store.)
1 large onion chopped small in food processor, or cover the hamburger in the frying pan with dried chopped onion or onion flakes, that's what I have been doing to save time and it doesn't seem to make too much difference.
2 teaspoons chili powder
Dash of pepper and salt.
½ large can of tomato juice (I use about ⅔ of a jar of homemade juice a lot but they both work great, I saw Granny use V-8 juice before too and it was still great.)
2 ½ tablespoons sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Fry the hamburger together with the onion, chili powder, and salt and pepper. I fry it in my soup pot so that I can add everything else to it when its done. Granny used her electric skillet every time.
Mash the burger while frying to make it small.
When burger is cooked, add tomato juice and sugar.
Keep heating on the stove on low to medium heat. If it gets too dry keep adding more tomato juice until it looks juicy and good.
Boil 10 oz. macaroni. It is best with the really tiny macaroni that you can buy in the Mexican food isle in some grocery stores but I usually use whole wheat since I'm trying to eat healthy.
Drain the macaroni when its ready and add to mixture.
I top it all with slices of American cheese and when its melted I stir it in.
Lastly I top it all with slices of american cheese again and when it's melted I serve it.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
One of Granny B's specialties! She was very particular (picky) about the ingredients (kinds and brands) she used in her special recipes but they were always consistent and wonderful. She usually didn't measure anything either so a lot of her recipes are approximate so use your senses and best judgement!
