Dough:
2 cups scalded milk
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 sticks butter
8 cups plus flour
2 pkg yeast
1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup tepid water
3 eggs beaten



Filling:
1 lb pecans or walnuts
6 oz mixed nuts
2 cup sugar
1 stick melted butter
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1 lb white raisins

Directions:
Directions:
* Preheat oven to 300º

* Start yeast- mix 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 cup tepid water & 2 pkgs yeast.

* Mix together scalded milk, 2 cups sugar, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 2 sticks butter, 3 cups flour, yeast mixture & 3 eggs.

* Add flour 1 cup at a time up to 8 cups.

* Knead on a floured surface until a soft dough forms

* Put into a buttered bowl & let rise for about an hour.

* Punch down.

* Divide into 8 balls & let rest about 15 min.

* Roll dough out.

* Spread with melted butter.

* Cover with 3/4 cup nut mixture.

* Roll up.

* Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

* Prick top & sides with a fork.

* Brush with butter.

* Bake at 300º for 1 hour. If using 2 oven racks, switch pans after 30 minutes.

* Place on cooling racks

* Brush with melted butter.
