2 cups boiling water
2 cups All Bran cereal
Pour water over cereal and set aside.

3 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
Cream sugar and shortening.

Add 4 eggs and beat.
Add 1 quart buttermilk.
Fold 5 cups flour, 1 tsp. salt and 5 tsp. soda. Do Not Overmix.

Add 4 cups dry bran, then add bran/water mixture.

Bake at 400º, 18-20 minutes.

1. May store batter in refrigerator up to 6 weeks.

2. May cook in microwave 3-5 minutes.
