1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup brown sugar, light or dark

Directions:
Layer above ingredients in a quart jar. Add a tag with these instructions.
You will need:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Jar of cookie mix

To Bake:
Place rack in the center of your oven and preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, beat butter, egg, and vanilla until well blended. Add the cookie mix and mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving about 1 1/2 inches between each ball of dough. Bake for 12- 15 minutes, until light golden brown. Remove from the oven, and let cool on a wire rack. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container.
