Cookie Dough:
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup shortening
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2¾ cup flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
¼ tsp salt

Cinnamon Sugar:
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400°. Thoroughly mix butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls. Mix sugar and the cinnamon; roll balls in mixture. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.

Susy: My recipe is identical except that it calls for 1 cup shortening and no butter. So, if you are out of butter, you might try my version. It's good, too!
