2 pounds fresh green beans
1 cup frozen pearl onions, thawed OR 1 cup chopped yellow onion
1 cup unsalted chicken stock
½ teaspoon table salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
6 center cut bacon slices

Directions:
Directions:
Trim the green beans, if desired. Combine the beans, the next 4 ingredients and 2 of the bacon slices in a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low until beans are tender 5-6 hours.
Meanwhile, chop the remaining 4 slices of bacon; cook in a large skillet over medium, stirring occasionally until crisp, about 8 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Discard the bacon strips from the cooker and top the green beans with the cooked bacon pieces.
