COUNTDOWN TO TURKEY DINNER

MENU - Dinner is at 1pm
Brined Turkey
Dressing
Mashed potatoes
Gravy
Yams
Green Bean Casserole
Rolls

Pumpkin Pecan Pie
Lemon Pie
Cool Whip

MONDAY
Put the turkey in the cooler with the brine

WEDNESDAY
Boil the yams
Prepare the turkey for the oven just before bed and put in the fridge
Prepare and bake the Pumpkin Pecan pie
Bake the pie shell for the Lemon pie

THURSDAY
8:30am – turkey goes in the oven – 12-15 lb turkey = 3 ½ hrs
make the lemon pudding and pour it in the baked pie shell to cool
10:30 – prepare the yams and green bean casserole – put in the fridge
set the table and clean up the kitchen a bit
make the dough and set it to rise
11:30 – start the dressing, leave covered on low heat
peel the potatoes and get them on to boil, turn on the heat about noon
12pm – turkey comes out of the oven – scoop the drippings out into a lrg bow, add ice
put yams and green bean casserole in the oven
scoop the ice/fat out of the turkey drippings – get gravy going
form the rolls so they’re ready to go in the oven
12:45 – yams and green bean casserole out of the oven
rolls in the oven
drain and mash the potatoes
slice the turkey, get everything in a dish and on the table
1pm – rolls come out of the oven and it’s time to eat!!
