Ingredients:  
1 gallon small cucumbers
1 quart water
1 ⅓ cups vinegar
½ cup salt
4 TBsp dill seed
2 TBsp allspice
Hot peppers &/or grape leaves if desired.
1 small lump of alum in each jar

Directions:
Directions:
Place cucumbers in cold water overnight. Next day, place cucumbers in jars with alum, pepper, and spices. Let water, vinegar, and salt come to a boil, pour over cucumbers and seal.
