1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 pound powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening. Gradually add remaining ingredients and beat on Medium-High speed with an electric mixer until frosting is light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
For chocolate frosting, prepare frosting as directed and add 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa and 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted in microwave or slowly on stovetop). Continue mixing frosting for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Store unused portion in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
