Ingredients: 1 can (16 oz) pear halves, drained 9 maraschino cherries without stems 2 cups boiling water 1 pkg (8 serving size) or 2 pkg (4 serving size) jello lime flavor gelatin dessert 1 c cold water 1 c thawed Cool Whip whipped topping

Directions:Spray tree mold or any 5 c mold lightly with no stick cooking spray. Cut 2 pear halves into 8 pieces. Dice remaining pears, set aside. Place pear slices and cherries in bottom of tree mold or other mold. Stir boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 mins until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water. Measure 1 ½ cups of the gelatin. Refrigerator about 1 ½ hours or until thickened (spoon drawn through leaves definite impression) Carefully pour over fruit in mold, pushing fruit down if it begins to float. Refrigerate about 30 mins or until set but not firm (should stick to finger when touched and should mound). Meanwhile, refrigerate remaining gelatin 1 ¼ hours or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites). Stir in whipped topping with wire whisk until smooth. Stir in diced pears. Spoon over gelatin in mold. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Unmold. |
