8 cups fresh Marionberries (or another berry)
1 cup sugar
3 Tbl. cornstarch
2 tsp. grated lemon zest
2 tsp. lemon juice

Topping:
2 cups unbleached AP flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbl. baking powder
3 oz. sweet butter (slightly chilled and cubed)
3/4 cup half and half
2 eggs (beaten)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º.
Filling:
Place the berries in a large bowl.
In another bowl, mix the sugar, cornstarch, lemon zest and lemon juice together.
Mix the dry ingredients with the berries and place in 1/2 pint mason jars (for individual servings) or a pie pan.

Topping:
Combine flour, sugar and baking powder.
Add the butter and mix until coarse meal.
Mix together the half and half and eggs.

Spoon the topping over the berry mixture evenly.
Sprinkle the top with cinnamon-sugar.
Bake for 15 minutes for mason jar and 40 minutes for the large pie pan.
The topping should be baked through. You can check with a toothpick.
