5.5 fl oz tomato paste
1/4 c molasses
1/3 c red wine vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1/8 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk all ingredients in a medium saucepan.and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer about 4 minutes stirring frequently. Let cool before using. It will keep well, refrigerated, up to 1 month. Makes 1 cup.

Variations:

Curry ketchup - add 5 tsp curry powder to ingredients

Ballpark ketchup - Instead of Dijon, add 1 tbsp each yellow mustard and relish

Banana ketchup - cook 1/2 c mashed banana(1 banana) with 1/3 c brown sugar for 2 min. Continue with recipe omitting the molasses, Worcestershire and Dijon and using white vinegar instead of red wine vinegar.
