1 cup boiling water
½ tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
1 cake yeast
1 tsp. sugar
¼ cup sugar
4 cups flour
¼ cup shortening
3 T. warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix boiling water, ¼ cup sugar, salt and shortening together. Cool to lukewarm. Soften yeast in 3 T. warm water. Add 1 tsp. sugar and stir into first mixture. Add beaten egg and stir in 2 cups of flour. Beat thoroughly. Stir in other 2 cups of flour, mix thoroughly into a smooth dough. Knead slightly so as not to warm the dough. Grease top of dough and place in bowl. Cover with damp cloth and refrigerate. When needed pinch off dough. Shape. Let double in bulk for about 2 hours. Roll into balls, dip in melted butter and place on pie pan or wherever.
