1 cup of molasses
3 cups of white sugar
½ of boiling water
½ of butter
3 tbsp. of vinegar
1 tsp. of cream of tartar
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. of vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Heat molasses, white sugar, boiling water, butter and vinegar in a pot until it boils. Right away, add cream of tartar, baking soda and vanilla. Let boil until the candy thermometer is at 260ºF or until mixture forms a hard ball in cold water. Let cool in a greased pan. Pull taffy, cut in pieces and wrap in wax paper.
