2 sticks butter
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c sifted flour
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 t vanilla extract
1 pkg chocolate chips
2 c oats
1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, and mix well. Carefully sift dry ingredients into the mixture and blend well. Add vanilla, then hand stir oats, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by the teaspoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes or until light brown.

A time-honored favorite, and the only chocolate chip cookie worth making. It also works well to substitute raisins in for chocolate chips.
