2/3 cup shortening
2 2/3 cups sugar
2 cups pumpkin (1 can)
2/3 cup water
3 1/3 cups flour
2 tsp flour
2 tsp soda
2/3 cups raisins (optional)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
2/3 cup nuts (optional)
4 eggs

Struessel topping: 1 stick butter (not margarine), 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 to 3/4 cup quick cooking oatmeal, 2 Tbsp flour, dash or 2 cinnamon. Blend into fine crumbs.

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Then add water, pumpkin, rest of dry ingredients. Fill a loaf pan 2/3 full of batter and sprinkle topping on thick. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.

Bake muffins in paper lined tins for 15 minutes. You may need to adjust times.
