2 oz. red food color
3 tbsp. milk chocolate instant cocoa (Quick)
½ c. shortening
1½ c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2½ c. cake flour, sifted
½ tsp. salt
1 tbsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix food color and milk chocolate. Set aside. Cream the shortening and sugar and then add the eggs and the cocoa/color. Beat well. Add the buttermilk, flour and salt and beat again. Remove from mixer and add the vinegar, soda and vanilla and stir it into the batter. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured round cake pans. Bake at 350º until they test done. (Could also be made in a 9 X 13 pan.) Frost with Fluff Cream Frosting - see recipe.
