3/4 c Shortening
1¾ c Sugar
4 Eggs, separated
3 c Cake Flour or 2½ c Regular Flour
4 t Baking Powder
3/4 t Salt
1 c Milk
1 t Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening for about 2 minutes than gradually add sugar. Cream about 1½ minutes longer (after sugar has been completely added). Mix and sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk/vanilla combo beginning and ending with dry ingredients,. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into greased and floured (or wax paper lined) 3 - 8" pans Bake at 350º oven for 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
