1 fryer chicken or whole cut up chicken
bacon, cooked and crumbled - save the bacon grease
1 onion, chopped
¾ tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 Tbsp sugar
1 ½ C tomato sauce
1 clove garlic or ½ tsp garlic powder
½ C red wine
1 bay leaf

Directions:

Cut up chicken, remove skin. Cut off wing tips.
Combine flour salt and pepper and put in plastic bag. Shake chicken pieces to coat with flour.

Brown the chicken in the bacon grease mixture. Remove and keep warm.
Sauté onions in bacon grease that remains in pan. Add the italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. .
Lower heat and add the tomato sauce, and clove garlic or garlic powder.
Add the red wine and bay leaf.

Return the chicken to the skillet and cook covered about 25 more minutes.
