2 lbs. ground beef
2 T. oil
2 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
3 T. chili powder
2 t. ground cumin
1 bay leaf
½ c. beef stock
1 can (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
3 cans (16-ounce) red kidney beans
1 t. salt
1 can tomatoe paste
¼-½ c. sugar

Brown beef in hot oil in skillet. Discard excess fat. Put all ingredients in Slow Cooker. Stir once. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours (or high 5 hours). Discard bay leaf and serve hot.
