4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1½ cups sugar
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
3 cups sweet ground raisins
3 cups gum drops
milk to moisten
½ cup molasses
½ cup nuts
1 cup finely chopped suet

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except flour, gum drops and milk together. Mix the flour and gumdrops together and fold into mixture with just enough milk to moisten. Put in a large dish towel that has been floured and tie up with string. Put 1 quart water in a large pot and bring to a boil. Put a cup saucer in bottom of pan. Set the dish towel on the saucer and put lid on pot. Boil on simmer for 3 hours. Eat while warm with half&half with nutmeg in it.
