Apple Turnovers Recipe

1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. + 2 T. flour
2 T. sugar
3 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. milk
1 egg

3 c. diced apples
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 t. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
2 T. butter

Can make cherry filling (4 c. cherries, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 2 T. cornstarch, 1/8 c. water, 2 T. butter.)
For blueberry filling (3 c. blueberries, 2 T. sugar, 3 t. cornstarch, 1/4 c. water)

Mix dry ingredients and fork in butter. Add milk and egg. Put dough in fridge until apple filling is ready. Cook apple filling until thickened and apples are cooked.
Divide dough into 10 balls. Roll out each ball into a thin circle. Put apple filling on half of circle and fold over and seal edged with a fork. Bake 375 for 15 minutes. Can dust with powdered sugar.
