1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Note: You may need to double the amounts depending on the number of racks you are grilling

SAUCE:
In a saucepan cook 1/4 cup of chopped onion 1minced clove of garlic in 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Stir in 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup strawberry preserves, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1-2 fresh jalapeño peppers seeded and finely chopped, 1 tablespoon steak sauce, 1 teaspoon chili powder.

Bring all ingredients to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes or until it slightly thickens, stirring occasionally

Remove membrane on the bottom of the ribs using a knife and paper towel. Take the rub and sprinkle it over both sides of the ribs and rub it into the meat using your fingers. I preheat the grill to about 500 degrees and then turn off the inside burners. Place the ribs bone side down an the grill using indirect cooking. Let cook for approximately 1-1/2 hours on medium heat (300-325). Take ribs off and place on aluminum foil. Pour liquid butter over top of ribs and wrap them up. Mplace them back on the grill for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. If you let ke “wet” ribs skip the butter and foil and just brush sauce on the ribs and grill for approximately 45 minutes.
