4 qt. small cucumbers sliced thin
8 lg. white onions sliced thin
c. salt
5 c. sugar
5 c. cider vinegar
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the cucumbers and onions. Sprinkle with the salt and 2 qt. cracked ice. Cover with a weighted lid for about 3 hrs. Drain thoroughly and rinse well with cold water. Place in a large kettle. Add sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery and mustard seeds. Bring almost to a boil, stirring often but do not allow to boil. Pack into hot sterilized jars and seal at one. Use vinegar with 4-6% acidity.
