2 gal. water
2 c. hydrated lime (buy at hardware or farm supply)
2 gal. sliced cucumbers
4 qt. sugar
2½ qt. vinegar
Handful pickling spices
Green food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Slice cucumbers ¼ in. thick and put in lime water. Let stand for 24 hours. Stir often. Wash off lime and let stand 3 hours in cold water.

Drain the water off of cucumbers. Place them in vinegar, sugared spice mixture and bring to a boil. Add green coloring and let stand overnight. Next morning, simmer 35 minutes and seal in jars.
