1/2 c margarine or shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c applesauce
2 c flour
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp cocoa
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 c raisins
3/4 c chopped walnuts
2 tsp soda
1/4 c hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Put soda in 1/4 cup hot water and add raisins. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add applesauce and mix. Mix dry ingredients and stir in. Add walnuts. Add raisin mixture last. Pour in greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
