3 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1 Tlb ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup lard
1 cups brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup molasses

Directions:

Roll the dough in wax paper and refrigerate. When take out of fridge preheat oven to 350F. Then slice to 1/4" thick. put on cookie sheet and bake about 10 minutes

First made this recipe when we stayed in the field at the farm and Grampa asked for those particular cookies over and over again Said they tasted like his moms.
