1 1/2 cups butter
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups white flour
4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp powdered ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp cloves

Coating
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tlbs powdered ginger

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Beat in mixing bowl the butter, sugar, eggs and molasses. In a separate bowl mix together flour, soda, salt, ginger, cinn, and cloves. Then add the dry to the wet and beat well. Make a ball with 1 Tlb of dough and drop into sugar ginger mix and roll till covered. Place well apart on cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Should be cracked on top and still quite soft in center ½
