Ingredients:  
1 cup dates - chopped
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. salt

Add:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Pour 1 cup boiling water over first 4 ingredients. Let cool. Sir in remaining ingredients and pour into prepared loaf pans. Makes 2 small loaves. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
