1 c. chicken broth (if you cook back and neck, if not use plain water)
8 eggs, unbeaten
2 lbs. dry bread, soak with 1 pt. Water
1 lb. sliced apples
¼ lb. butter or more as desired
3 tbsp. minced garlic
¾ tbsp. pepper
3 tbsp. salt or to taste

Mix all above ingredients thoroughly with spoon so eggs mix well. Grease roaster with lard quite heavily. Bake 2-2 ½ hours or until done at medium temp. If too dry add a little water.
