c. butter or margarine, softened
c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
tsp. salt

Topping:
2 T. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 cups sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.

In a separate bowl, mix 2 T. sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on uncreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.

Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
