1 pound Italian sausage
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 can small tomato sauce
2 tablespoons snipped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound ground beef
2 cloves minced garlic
1 (28-ounce) can stewed diced tomato
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1 tablespoon basil
1 teaspoon sugar
8 ounces lasagna noodles
8 ounces ricotta
cup Shredded parmesan cheese
1 package -8oz plus more for topping shredded mozzarella cheese

1. Brown beef and sausage. Add seasonings while meat is cooking. Remove and drain.
2. Add meat back to pan. Add remaining ingredients except noodles and cheeses. Simmer for 1 hour.
3. Mix cheeses in a bowl.
4. Layer: noodles, meat, then cheese mixture, add a final topping of just mozzarella cheese and cook at 350 degrees until cheese browns.
