1 C Vegetable Shortening (Crisco-Butter flavor)
¾ C Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
½ tsp. Salt
2 C Flour
½tsp. Baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the dry ingredients in a smaller bowl.
In larger bowl cream sugar and shortening.
Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
Add dry ingredients. Mix well.
Food coloring may be added at this time if desired.

Bake at 400º for about 10 minutes. May only need 7-8 minutes, watch them so the bottoms don't burn.

I usually triple or quadruple the recipe, divide and chose different colors to dye.
