1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
3/4 tsp. vinegar
3/4 cup evaporated milk or sour cream
3 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheets. Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Add vinegar to evaporated milk. To shortening mixture, add milk or cream alternately with dry ingredients. Bake 15-18 minutes. Delicious with vanilla or chocolate frosting.
