Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1.5 pound ground beef
1 large onion
1 large red or green pepper
1 small package mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs
1/2 cup panko or oatmeal
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
6 cups water
2 tbsp better than bouillon, beef flavor
3 tbsp cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Finely chop 1/2 the onion, 1/2 the pepper and half the mushrooms. Saute these in butter until tender but not browned. Add minced garlic and saute for an additional minute. Allow to cool while assembling the other ingredients. These will go into the meat mixture. Chop the remainder of the onion, pepper, and mushrooms in larger pieces - these will go into the gravy. Combine ground beef, sauteed veggies, eggs, panko or oatmeal, ketchup, and worcestershire sauce. Once it is thoroughly combined shape into balls the size of a golf ball. Flatten each ball slightly so they look like little hamburgers. Brown in a skillet or electric frying pan until browned on each size but not cooked through. Remove from skillet and put on a plate while you saute the remaining vegetables until soft. Add water and bouillon and bring to a boil. Return the meatballs back to the liquid and allow to simmer until the meat is finished - usually about a half hour. Mix the cornstarch with cold water and add slowly to the liquid until it thickens. I usually add some gravy master to make it darker but it's not necessary. Allow to simmer for a few minutes more until the gravy is cooked and thickened. Adjust seasonings if necessary. Service with mashed potatoes or buttered noodles.
