6 large egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups whole milk
8 ounces bittersweet or dark chocolate, chopped

Directions:
Place chocolate in a large bowl and set aside. Beat yolks and sugar on high speed until pale and creamy. Bring milk to a boil in a pan over medium heat. When the milk is simmering, remove from heat. Pour half of the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking continuously. Pour back into the pan with the remaining milk and return to heat. Stir constantly until it begins to thicken. Remove from heat and pour over chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is thick and smooth.
