Cathy Ramsey Quarles


1 8oz cream cheese
1&1/2 cups sugar
1&1/2 sticks butter
4 eggs
2&1/2 cups flour
1&1/2 tsps. baking powder
1&1/2 cups walnuts or almonds
1&1/2 tsps. almond extract
1 jar maraschino cheeries (I use a large jar)

Cream together butter, sugar, cream cheese and almond extract.
Add eggs one at a time--mix well. Add baking powder and flour--mix well.
Drain the cheeries and cut them in half. In a separate bowl. mix a small
amount of flour with cheeries & fold into cake mixture being careful not to
crush cheeries. Add nuts & pour entire mixture into greased bundt pan.
Bake 350 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Take cake out of oven & immediately turn upside down on plate
After cake cools... glaze top with mixture of confectioners sugar & water.
Drizzle over cake.

**allow to set over night before slicing so flavor penetrates through**
