Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 ˝ lbs. haricots verts or regular green beans
2 T butter
2 T olive oil
˝ C slivered almonds
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 T fresh lemon juice
salt & pepper

Directions:
Directions:
1) In a 12 inch skillet, heat the butter and oil over medium-low heat until the butter melts and the foam subsides. Add the almonds and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden-brown all over, about 3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon to a plate.
2) Add the beans, cook to desired level of crispness/softness. Add the garlic and saute about another minute, add the lemon juice and stir. Put on a platter…or your plate, add the toasted slivered almonds and voila! Very tasty…

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The original recipe calls for blanching the beans, but I prefer just cooking them in the pan and getting them a little charred…
