Mix:

12 oz. Flour
t. soda
t. cream of tartar
1/4 t. salt
2 T. Sugar


black treacle (or in a pinch, molasses)
buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat black treacle and mix in buttermilk

Add to flour mixture until it can be worked into ball. During this time, add raisins to taste.

Roll into round and cut into farls. Cook on griddle.
