1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
4 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400

In large bowl, blend butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs at low speed. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed. (lightly spoon four into measuring cup; level off.) Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll into mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly.

Bake for 7 - 10 minutes until edges are set but not brown.
