¾ stick margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 lemon rind, grated
1 ½ cup flour
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt

GLAZE (add after baking/cooling)
⅓ cup sugar
juice of one lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add dry ingredients, alternately with milk.
Bake for 1 hour at 350º
If getting dark, cover with foil.
Cool 5-10 minutes then prick top with toothpicks.

Glaze:
Mix ⅓ cup sugar with lemon juice. Drizzle over bread.

Let stand overnight before slicing. (if you can wait that long!)
