Directions:
Combine yeast and very warm water and stir well until yeast is dissolved. Add the sugar, salt and eggs. Then add the shortening and milk. Add the flour 2 cups at a time. Knead the dough, adding flour to it until it is no longer sticky. Form ball and put in greased bowl to rise 1½ hours. You can now form into rolls or bread loaves or roll out and make cinnamon rolls! Let rise a second time 1 hour or until doubled in size. Bake at 375º for approximately 25-30 minutes until done.

For cinnamon rolls, roll out half the dough and butter it heavily. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cover with brown sugar then roll it up and cut in 1 inch think rolls. Repeat with second half of dough.

Personal Notes:
Grandma Bonner was known for her cinnamon rolls. She often made them for family. Sometimes she would make them to take over to the guys at the Chillicothe Fire Department on E. Second St. At other times she would just make what she called "light rolls" to serve with her also famous Bean Soup! We would all go to Grandma's and enjoy her cooking!
