Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 cups peeled figs
3 cups sugar
2- 3 oz boxes strawberry jello

Directions:
Directions:
Place dry jello on top of peeled figs and then the sugar over the jello. Let this stand for 45 minutes. This brings all of the juice to the top. Put on low heat and cook 5 minutes. Raise temperature gradually, cooking for 15 minutes more. You can bring almost to a boil, but not a rolling boil, as this will make the preserves turn dark. Test a small amount in saucer to be sure figs are cooked, but not so well done that they fall apart. When figs have finished cooking, pout into hot sterile jars and seal.
