1-lb. hot Italian sausage
1 cup chopped onions
2 cloves of garlic or minced
3 1-lb. cans of tomatoes(2½ quarts)
1-6 oz. can of tomato paste
¼ cup snipped parsley flakes
1 T. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. Accent
1½ T. dried oregano(crushed)
¼ tsp. thyme
1 bay leaf(very important)

Combine onion, meat and garlic. Brown it. Then skim fat. Add remaining ingredients and two or three cups of water. Simmer uncovered for 3 hours.(til thick) Serves 5.

Julie must have only had 3 kids when she gave me this recipe, I don't think I've ever seen a Spaghetti recipe that serves 5.
